Q: How do I book an appointment?
You may book an appointment either by calling our general line (416-366-CARE) or by walk-in. Pre-booked appointments are given priority over walk-in patients. We encourage our patients to call and book ahead of time to guarantee themselves a timeslot.

Q: What happens if I have to cancel an appointment due to an emergency?
For private service appointments (non medical), a cancellation fee may be charged for ‘no show’ or less than 24 hours of notice. For medical services, patients who continue to miss pre-booked appointments will lose the pre-booking privileges and may only utilize ‘walk-in’ services. Emergencies do occur and we do understand on a case by case basis and subject to physician discretion.

Q: Do I need a referral to see a medical or other healthcare professional at the Harbourfront Health Centre?
No. You may see any of our practitioners without a formal medical referral. Our team of professionals include: Chiropractors, Physiotherapist, Naturopathic Doctor, Massage Therapists etc. Simply call and speak to our reception staff to book your appointment!

Q: I have a pre-booked appointment. How early in advance do I need to check in?
Depending on the type of appointment, check in time may vary. In general, we ask that patients arrive 10 minutes in advance to allow time for initial sign in forms, administrative check in etc. That way, your file will be opened on time and on schedule.

Q: For private services I have extended health coverage. Does your clinic bill me insurance company directly?
No. We take payment in advance for all our private fee services (by visa/mc/interact/cash). We provide you with an invoice receipt which you may then attach to your claim form. Go to ‘extended health care’ for more info.

Q: I just moved to the area and looking for a family doctor. Is the clinic or family doctors accepting new patients?
For family medicine, not at this time. However, our GP’s do provide a very comprehensive walk-in assessment/service which in many cases equals that of a family doctor. With our online medical database, your medical file rests within our clinic and any of our GP’s may access your health history at anytime to provide you with the best care they can for acute care. For more information on our walk-in medical centre policy and procedures, please go to ‘medical clinic’.

Q: How long will I have to wait once I arrive and check-in for my appointment?
For non-medical/private services (ie. chiropractic, naturopathic, physiotherapy, massage therapy), patients are often seen within minutes of their pre-booked appointment!
For medical appointments, we cannot guarantee that you will be seen precisely at your pre-booked timeslot due to medical emergencies or situations outside of our control. However, we pride ourselves as having one of the shortest medical OHIP wait-times in city! Our physicians respect the time commitments of our patients as many of them are professionals, and are under a timeline crunch due to work commitments. For walk-in patients, wait times vary depending on peak hours or time of walk-in and cannot be guaranteed.

Q:I noticed your clinic provides custom orthotics. I need a doctors note for insurance. Can I get this at your clinic?
You may come to see any of our GP’s at any time to get a note for orthotics. Often, you may book immediately or same day with our chiropractor and complete you assessment all in one visit! When booking your appointments, please ensure that you let our receptionists know that you would like to have 2 appointments for the same visit…one with the GP, and another with the Chiropractor. We will do our best to schedule in back to back appointment times for your convenience!

Q: Does your clinic provide OHIP based physiotherapy?
No. However, we do provide the complete line of physiotherapy care for WSIB and Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) patients. Our clinic is private service clinic.

Q: I’m a visiting tourist and I’m not a Canadian Citizen. How do I see a doctor at this clinic?
Our GP’s will provide medical service to ‘out of country’ patients for a fee. Charges vary and may be for the Physician’s visit as well as for any bloodwork/injections. For our fee guideline, go to Fees.
